ComfortableSoftware Operations Manager swims the length of the Channel for Aspire!
This year Adrian Birch, is swimming the distance of the Channel in his local pool to raise money for Aspire - one of the UK's leading spinal injury charities.
Adrian joins over 7,000 other swimmers around the country, who have to complete 22 miles over 12 weeks and he hopes to raise at least £1000 towards the charity.
"Initially I started swimming to lose weight and get fit. Sitting in front of a computer for many hours a day doesn't help the waistline! My fitness instructor told me about the sponsored swim and I thought, I think I can do that, what a great incentive! Fitness aside though, I feel this is a an amazing charity to raise money for, I think many of us know someone who has a spinal injury and how life changing that can be. Aspire receives no statutory funding, so every penny raised through these swims will help them to continue their vital work." says Adrian.
This is the first time he has taken part in the Aspire Channel Swim (in fact, it's his first physical fundraiser!) and whilst it will be hard work, he is sure to see huge personal benefits.
If you would like to support Adrian, then please donate online on his fundraising page here:

Your donations will make a huge difference to those living with spinal injury. Four people every day sustain a spinal cord injury and are told that they may never walk again. Aspire provides essential services such as accessible housing, grants, IT facilities and practical support and advice to help support people from injury to independence.
